Clocks Fall Back: Your New Time Gap With US & UK Clients (Pakistan Guide, Nov 2026)
If you work with clients in the US, UK or Europe, your meeting times are about to shift, even though nothing changes in Pakistan. The US turns its clocks back one hour on Sunday, November 1, 2026. The UK and most of Europe already did it a week earlier, on Sunday, October 25.
Pakistan does not use daylight saving time, so our clocks stay on Pakistan Standard Time (UTC+5) all year. That means the gap between you and your clients gets one hour bigger. A call that used to start at 6:00 PM in Karachi now starts at 7:00 PM.
This guide shows the new time differences, the exact moment each US time zone switches, and a short checklist so you don’t miss a meeting or a deadline this week.
The short answer
- New York, Washington, Toronto (Eastern): Pakistan is now 10 hours ahead (was 9).
- London: Pakistan is now 5 hours ahead (was 4).
- Los Angeles, Seattle (Pacific): Pakistan is now 13 hours ahead (was 12).
- Your client’s 9:00 AM in New York is now 7:00 PM in Pakistan.
New time difference between Pakistan and your clients
Here is how far ahead Pakistan is, before and after the clocks changed:
| Client city (time zone) | Before the change | After the change | Changed on |
|---|---|---|---|
| New York, Miami, Toronto (Eastern) | 9 hours | 10 hours | Nov 1, 2026 |
| Chicago, Dallas, Houston (Central) | 10 hours | 11 hours | Nov 1, 2026 |
| Denver (Mountain) | 11 hours | 12 hours | Nov 1, 2026 |
| Phoenix, Arizona | 12 hours | 12 hours | No change (Arizona doesn’t use DST) |
| Los Angeles, San Francisco (Pacific) | 12 hours | 13 hours | Nov 1, 2026 |
| London, Dublin | 4 hours | 5 hours | Oct 25, 2026 |
| Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam | 3 hours | 4 hours | Oct 25, 2026 |
Hawaii and most of Arizona do not observe daylight saving time, so clients there see no change. The Navajo Nation in Arizona does change its clocks.
Common meeting times, converted to Pakistan time
These are the times Pakistani freelancers ask about most. All Pakistan times below are for after the change.
| Client’s time | Pakistan time (new) | Military time | Before the change |
|---|---|---|---|
| 9:00 AM New York | 7:00 PM | 1900 | 6:00 PM |
| 12:00 PM New York | 10:00 PM | 2200 | 9:00 PM |
| 5:00 PM New York | 3:00 AM (next day) | 0300 | 2:00 AM |
| 9:00 AM Chicago | 8:00 PM | 2000 | 7:00 PM |
| 9:00 AM Los Angeles | 10:00 PM | 2200 | 9:00 PM |
| 9:00 AM London | 2:00 PM | 1400 | 1:00 PM |
| 5:00 PM London | 10:00 PM | 2200 | 9:00 PM |
Clients often write times in 24-hour format, like “the call is at 1900”. If that ever confuses you, our military time converter turns it into normal 12-hour time instantly.

Exactly when the switch happens in Pakistan
Each US time zone changes at 2:00 AM its own local time, so the switch reaches Pakistan in steps on Sunday, November 1:
- Eastern: 11:00 AM Pakistan time
- Central: 12:00 PM Pakistan time
- Mountain: 1:00 PM Pakistan time
- Pacific: 2:00 PM Pakistan time
So if you have anything scheduled on Sunday afternoon with a US client, double-check it. For part of that day, New York has already changed but Los Angeles hasn’t.
Your checklist for this week
- Check who created each recurring meeting. If your client set it up in their time zone, it stays at 9:00 AM for them and moves one hour later for you. If you set it up in Pakistan time, it stays at the same time for you but becomes one hour earlier for your client. That’s how people end up waiting on an empty call.
- Re-check deadlines written as “end of day EST” or “5 PM ET”. 5:00 PM in New York is now 3:00 AM in Pakistan, not 2:00 AM.
- Update your working hours on your Upwork or Fiverr profile, in your email signature, or anywhere you tell clients when you’re available.
- Night-shift and call-centre workers: if your shift is tied to US time, it now starts and ends one hour later in Pakistan. Log the new hours carefully so your weekly total is right.
- Set a countdown for your first meeting after the change so you don’t rely on memory.

Does this affect Upwork payments?
No. Upwork runs its weekly billing on UTC, which never changes for daylight saving. Upwork’s help centre says the hourly billing week starts on Monday at 00:00 UTC and ends on Sunday at 23:59 UTC.
In Pakistan time, that is always Monday 5:00 AM to the next Monday 4:59 AM, before and after the clocks change. Your short window to fix your hours is Monday from 5:00 AM to 4:59 PM Pakistan time.
When will it change again?
The US moves its clocks forward again on Sunday, March 14, 2027, and the UK and Europe follow on Sunday, March 28, 2027. For those two weeks, the gap with New York drops back to 9 hours while London is still 5 hours behind. Then everything returns to the summer gaps.
